The Faculty of Public Administration at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia in conjunction with an international consortium of universities around the world, which included other higher education institutions, and students' associations, used several machine learning and statistical models to analyse data collected during those transitional periods proposed by the world health organisation and governments around the world. The results indicated that features related to students' academic life, have the largest impact on their emotional wellbeing.
Other important factors included students' satisfaction with their universities and governments handling of the pandemic as well as students financial security, which was also been noticed the increased demand of virtual classes.
